If you’re on Facebook (and let’s face it, who isn’t?) you know firsthand how powerful of a platform it is. And I bet you’re thinking of ways to promote your business on Facebook, too.
Thanks to its inherent viral features (such as activity feeds, friend invites, notifications, etc.), social networks like Facebook provide the ideal platform for spreading the word about your products and your brand. Every person who engages with your Facebook Fan page encourages their entire network of Facebook friends to view your Fan Page. This spells fantastic exposure for your brand.
Unfortunately for us indie biz owners, Facebook Fan Pages don’t come with an Owner’s Manual. You might still be using a square picture of yourself on your Profile page and sending new visitors to the Wall on your Fan pages. If you’re trying to promote a business, that doesn’t give you a lot of promotional options besides your Status Updates.

There are a variety of ways that we can work together to customize your Facebook profile or Fan page.
Facebook Banners
Your profile picture is one of the few things in the design of your page that you can actually customize, so be sure to make the most of it. We can design a 200×600 vertical banner that you’ll use to replace your standard photo, creating a nice advertisement in the left sidebar. This can be used on both personal Facebook profiles as well as business Fan Pages. The banner will appear on your wall and info pages.
Custom Facebook Tabs
We can also create customized tabs that appear alongside the other tabs you already have on your Fan page (like the Wall, Info, etc.). We can add full welcome pages, shop tabs, coupon tabs, newsletter sign-up tabs, YouTube video channels, or (almost) anything else you can dream up. The custom tabs we create will be just like any other page on the Internet and can contain graphics, actual text, videos, link buttons, and text links.
1. Showcase your Products in a Shop Tab

With a custom shop tab, you can visually promote your products in an attention-grabbing way. The Shop tab links interested shoppers directly to your online store.
We’ll add images and descriptions of your products with a link to your e-commerce site (Etsy or otherwise) so your Facebook fans are one click away from your shop.

We can also add a “Share” button so that your Facebook friends can share your products with their friends, too.
2. Encourage Customer Sign-ups with a Newsletter Tab
We can create contact forms, online surveys, and invitations to capture valuable customer information directly from your Fan page. With a custom tab, we’ll easily embed a sign-up form into your Facebook page. On my page, I use a tab like this to encourage fans to sign-up for the Makery e-newsletter.
3. Invite Fans with a Welcome Tab

Use a customized landing page to make the best-possible first impression. We’ll design a simple image with a message to welcome visitors. We can add optional hyperlinks to the page that enable you to direct traffic to any other web page inside or outside of Facebook.
4. Increase Conversions with Fan Offers

Convert casual visitors into devoted fans by rewarding them with an exclusive coupon or invitation to a special event (like a short-term sale).
We’ll create a custom tab that displays promotions or coupon codes only to fans of your page.
We can include an optional hyperlink on the second image that enables you to lead “likers” to your store where they can redeem the special offers.
